Luke Le (formerly Luke Van Aurich) is an artist born in Boorloo/Perth and currently residing on Gadigal land/Sydney. Although he works with no formal training, his career spans photography, publishing, design and fabrication.
Le’s practice explores the fragility of memory and the poetic potential of the everyday, with a focus on narrative and material experimentation. His mark combines a tactile material richness with layered textures, tonal depth, and object-like presence, carrying a lingering emotional resonance as if memory itself has been physically etched into the work.
Recognised for his self-published and institutionally acclaimed photobooks, Le’s work has been shortlisted for the Aperture Foundation First PhotoBook Prize and exhibited at venues including Hillvale Gallery (VIC) and Kennards (NSW). His publications are held in private and institutional collections in Australia and internationally.
Studio visits, commissions & archival prints are available by request via Email or Instagram.
